Deutsche Bahn AG is the biggest company for railway transportation in Germany using a railway infrastructure that consists of more than 8000 train stations and has a length over 33,000 kilometers. This network is controlled by about 3,300 interlocking systems of various types. To keep up with the technologic progress Deutsch Bahn is currently working on a new generation of interlocking systems.
CIPSEC solutions on this pilot will focus on the monitoring of the communication between field elements and the core interlocking system and will include hardware security, anomaly detection, cyber-security, DDoS protection etc. In particular, CIPSEC aims to provide a solution which monitors the communication between field elements and the core interlocking systems and takes actions to prevent any damage.
